Rabel Betshmuel is an Iraqi-born Assyrian multidisciplinary artist and visual designer based in Chicago, Illinois. He specializes in blending ancient Mesopotamian motifs, symbols, and patterns with contemporary graphic design to create fine art, wall art, and digital illustrations. Having escaped religious persecution in Iraq during the 1980s, his artistic practice focuses on reviving and preserving indigenous Assyrian heritage. He has collaborated with cultural organizations like the Assyrian Aid Society and has been featured in art documentaries highlighting Middle Eastern diaspora artists.
